Gasleak in a Refrigerator
If your Refrigerator requires a refrigerant charge it means you have a gas leak in the system

A question I always get is "Why or how" did the gas leak happen. Mainly because of two reasons
1. Inferior/wrong material; Using Galvanizing tubing (cover with plastic coating)in a wet section.
2. Bad design; Evaporators are situated inside the drip tray, which means that it is constantly in contact with water. In the olden days the drip tray where fitted on top of the compressor. The heat from the compressor helps to evaporate the water in the drip tray.
We can only hope that the manufacturers will redesign their products and develop some pride in what they put in the marketplace.
